It is with great pleasure that I can apply for this scholarship and please allow me to make the following self-introduction.
My name is Corrine Duan and I recently graduated from Niagara Christian Collegiate, a secondary school near Niagara Falls where I have attended since 2014. Starting this September, I will be a McGill student studying Life Sciences. Gratefully, McGill University also offers me a total amount of $12,000 scholarships and I am honored to become the recipient of the 2017 Governor General’s Academic Medal. Besides McGill University, I was also accepted by University of Toronto for Life Sciences program with $10,000 entrance scholarships, Seton Hall University with a total amount of US$98,500 scholarships for four years, and two other American schools - Calvin College and Geneva College - with their highest amount of scholarships. During high school, I was actively involved in many extracurricular activities. For example, I have been elected as a Student Leader in the school residence and vice president in the school choir for three years. We have won two silver medals in the MusicFest Canada competition. In 2016 summer, I was also selected as a student intern working for my high school president in the Enrollment office.
At last, I want to thank again for this opportunity and the above accomplishments are only listed for weighing my competitiveness.
