From my experience as a Humanities student, I will suggest to take electives in the 1st two years, the pro is that u can get warm up and most importantly getting to grow with the majority in a simultaneous way. But that could also affect some students strategic goal on achieving a higher GPA in order to bridge into a master's degree or scholarship in the sense that senior students usually secure a better grade in bird courses.
